Why Should You Help?

Not helping in a cardiac emergency leads to unnecessary deaths.  Effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival, but only 32% of Cardiac Arrest victims receive CPR from a bystander.
Who Can You Help?
Since 88% of Cardiac Arrests occur at home, the life you save with CPR could very well be someone you know and love.  It could be your friend or neighbor, your grandparent, your parent, your spouse, or significant other or your very own child. Don’t be afraid; your actions can only help.
Who Should Learn CPR?
Anyone can learn CPR and everyone should! Sadly, 70% of Americans may feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because either they do not know how to administer CPR or their training has lapsed. This alarming statistic could hit close to home, because home is where 88% of cardiac arrests occur. Don’t be afraid; your actions can only help.
Why Learn CPR?
Sudden Cardiac Arrests are more common than you think, and can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Nearly 383,000 out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrests occur annually, and 88% of Cardiac Arrests occur at home. Many victims appear healthy with no known heart disease or other risk factors. Anyone can suffer Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
